rOGER E. GIESE, Founder
1944-2019

Roger was a graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a degree in International Business and held a Certificate of Canine Studies from Bergin University of Canine Science.
Prior to founding 1St Responder Canine (FRK9), Roger had a wide career in the international business world which included three years in the Saudi Arabia as Executive Director of Gulfnet KSA representing both TRW and Sprint International. He had also been the Marketing Manager for the TRW Computer Support Training Center. He had been a top producer of telecommunication, computer services and environmental equipment sales before being employed by Stafford County Public School as a Computer Technician and Trainer. In addition to his business career Roger was in the Navy, a volunteer Fireman, Police Officer and Chairman of the Parking Authority in his hometown of Dunellen.
At a very early age Roger had a soft spot for and interest in our canine companions. For about 30 years he rescued, trained and re-homed numerous canines to include: German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers. In 2013 Roger became a volunteer Puppy Parent for Warrior Canine Connection and successfully trained three Labradors …Stanley, Tamer and Wayne; to become Service Dogs for three of our valiant Servicemen. This experience and the knowledge, that our country’s First Responders also suffer from PTSD, TBI and Mobil disabilities Roger created 1St Responder Canine to address the need of Police, Fire, Dispatch, and Emergency Medical Personnel, that selflessly serve the American community every day. Roger was extremely dedicated, mission driven, and passionate about serving the First Responder community. He worked every waking hour to provide for our First Responders until his unexpected passing in November 2019.
Roger’s belief was: “The greatest gift we get from God is the gift to give and one of the greatest gift we can give is the renewal of independence through a very special Canine/Human Partnership.”
